The L-20HZ Service Stair Access Roof Hatch is ideal for storm-prone buildings that utilize its maintenance and utility stairs to quickly access the roof. Its structural design strictly follows specific codes and regulations to meet the Miami – Dade approval.

Curb:   

• It has 12" (305mm) in height with integral cap flashing  
• It has 1" (25 mm) fiberboard insulation fully welded at the corners  
• 3-1/2" (89 mm) mounting flange  

• It has 7/16" holes (11 mm) for securing the roof deck's frame.   

Gasket:   

• It has extruded EPDM rubber gasket permanently adhered to the cover.   

Hinges:   

• Heavy-duty pintle hinges  

• It uses 3/8" (9 mm) type 316 stainless steel hinge pins.   

Latch:   

• Positive hold/release mechanism  
• UL-listed 165°F (74°C) fusible link  
• Can hold up to 90 psf (438 kg/m2) uplift force  

• has interior and exterior pull-release cables to the manually open vent cover.   

Operation:   

• It has compression springs enclosed in telescopic tubes open covers automatically against a ten psf (49 kg/m2) snow/wind load when released. Automatic hold-open arms lock the surface in the fully open position. The cover is supplied with a shock absorber to ensure a controlled opening rate.   

Performance Rating:   

• UL-listed. It complies with UL 793 and UL 790 Class A (burning brand test).   

Finish:   

• Steel: Alkyd base red oxide primer.   

Hardware:   

• Steel: All hardware is zinc-plated/chromate sealed.
