• Material: 1/4" (6mm) aluminum cover and extruded aluminum frame.

• Hardware: Type 316 stainless steel hardware throughout for corrosion resistance.

• Cover: Diamond-pattern tread plate reinforced for AASHTO H-20 wheel loading.

• Frame: Extruded aluminum with bend-down anchor tabs around the perimeter.

Installation Instructions

1. Prepare the Installation Area: Ensure the installation surface is clean, level, and free from debris. The opening must match the specified dimensions of the FT-30 door frame. For optimal performance, verify that the surrounding area is structurally sound.
2. Position the Frame: Place the FT-30 door frame into the prepared opening. Ensure the water retention lip is facing the appropriate direction to prevent water infiltration. Align the frame with the surface and secure it using the bend-down anchor tabs around the perimeter.
3. Install the Cover: Position the FT-30 aluminum cover onto the frame. The cover should rest securely in place, with the EPDM gasket around the perimeter ensuring a tight, flood-proof seal. Make sure the cover aligns properly with the frame before proceeding.
4. Secure and Test the Locking Mechanism: Engage the locking mechanism by turning the hex head bolt from the topside of the door. Ensure the locks compress the gasket for a flood-tight seal. Test the door by opening and closing it to verify smooth operation and that the gasket forms a tight seal to prevent water intrusion.
